Barry D. Budd is the Director of Monitoring Center Operations for Edgeworth Security. A highly accomplished law enforcement and military leader, Barry leverages his extensive expertise in high-level security, criminal intelligence, major crimes investigation management, and public safety planning to proactively prevent and manage security threats for Edgeworth’s clients.
Prior to joining Edgeworth, Barry served on the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police (PBP) as a Lieutenant in Major Crimes - overseeing the investigations of the most serious of criminal conduct; homicide, sexual assault, robbery, burglary, and other serious felonies. Prior to that he was the leader of Criminal Intelligence and dignitary protective services unit. In that role, he routinely worked with community and government entities for intelligence and public safety including the FBI, DHS, ATF, DEA, United States Secret Service, Pennsylvania State Police, and critical infrastructure partners including universities, schools and other business groups. Barry served on the Police S.W.A.T Team for over ten years, was the leader of the Police Dive Team, HAZMAT qualified, and created and led the Police Swift Water Flood Rescue Team.
Barry is in the United States Navy where he is a Lieutenant in a Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) Protective Services Unit in Washington, D.C. His prior leadership roles include being a Chief Warrant Officer 5, S.E.A.L. Team 18 Troop Commander - Combat Service Support Unit, Navy Seabee Combat Warfare Officer, Regimental Division Officer, and twenty years as a Deep Sea Diver/Diving Officer.
In 2011, Barry was awarded the ASIS International Robert Kroner Memorial Award for Outstanding Career. He is an Attorney and member of the Pennsylvania Bar.
