In response to the increase in school shootings around the country, many state legislatures are moving to update their school safety policies. Following the May 2018 incident in Santa Fe, Governor Greg Abbott announced plans to overhaul Texas’ policies by installing security systems, like Remote Guarding, that monitor and record entrances, exits and hallways.
“This plan is a starting point, not an ending place,” said Governor Abbott. “It provides strategies that can be used before the next school year begins to keep our students safe when they return to school. This plan will make our schools safer and our communities safer.”
Edgeworth’s Remote Guarding can actively manage incidents of campus violence and provide information to law enforcement, students and teachers in real time, when it is needed most.
